Optimistic Thoughts: Wow, that was close to a disaster. Thank goodness for Roman Josi. Viktor Stalberg makes his return for the first time since October and played like he wanted to stay in the lineup for an extended amount of time. Stalberg picked up an assist in the first and fit right in on the wing next to Wilson and Fisher. The Predators showed great resilience after the Kings tallied 32 seconds in by scoring the next three goals before the period ended. The power play continues to produce as Ellis one timed a great pass from Ribeiro to extend the lead. Mark Acrobello made his debut after the trade with Oilers and scored on a nice wrister coming down the left wing. The Predators look to have acquired a good amount of forward depth that will come in handy as the season goes along. With James Neal out, to put up seven goals on the defending Stanley Cup champions is quite the accomplishment.

Pessimistic Thoughts:  A complete breakdown as the Kings scored three goals in two minutes to tie the game late in the third. The Predators were very lucky to still get two points out of this game.  Nashville was the beneficiary of some very fortunate bounces in the first period that saw them take a two goal lead. Also, there were some very close calls for Los Angeles that could have easily changed the outcome of the first period. While the Predators were able to extend their lead by two, they allowed the Kings back into the game with two goals in quick succession. They extended the lead again in the third only to see it fall apart at the end. The foot has to be on the gas for a full sixty minutes.
