Keep an eye on...

Nashville Predators -

Gabriel Bourque – Bourque has been a bit unproductive lately for the Predators, not scoring a point in his previous seven games. If line rushes during practice were indicative of tonight’s lineup, Bourque could find himself as the odd man out.

San Jose Sharks -

Bracken Kearns – The 32 year old winger notched his first NHL goal on the 29th of December and has three goals in his past five games

Main Storylines

Nashville Predators -

  • Currently riding a season-high five-game point streak, can Mike Fisher continue his scoring ways?
  • Will Marek Mazanec get back into a groove in net for the Predators?
  • One of Viktor Stalberg’s five goals have come against the Sharks. Can he find another tonight?

San Jose Sharks -

  • Nashville is 5-2-1 against the Predators since the beginning of the 2011-2012 season, can the Sharks find a win on the road against Nashville?
  • Joe Thornton is riding an eight game point streak, recording 12 assists in those games. Can he continue it tonight?
  • Antti Niemi was 6-3-1 in his previous ten games before being pulled after allowing three goals in 14 shots against Colorado on Saturday evening, will he be able to respond tonight?
  • Sharks have a good chunk of their top performers out of their lineup with Havlat, Couture, Torres, Burish, Hertl, Wingels, and Kennedy all slated to be out

Last time out...

Viktor Stalberg’s goal with 2:49 remaining in regulation would prove to be the game-winner as Carter Hutton’s 36 saves helped Nashville to a 3-2 win against the Sharks on December 14th, 2013

One interesting fact...

Per the Nashville Predators PR department, Paul Gaustad has scored more goals against San Jose than any other team he’s faced with five goals in 11 career games
