Keep an eye on...

Nashville Predators -

Shea Weber – Currently riding a five-game point streak with two goals and five assists in that span, Weber (9g, 11a) continues to climb Nashville’s statistical leaderboard being only five points shy of David Legwand for the team lead.

Boston Bruins -

David Krejci – With seven goals and 24 assists so far this season, Krejci has been one of the focal pieces for Boston this season. Scoring the game-winner on Saturday versus Buffalo, Krejci has scored ten points (3g, 10a) in his last eight games.

Main Storylines

Nashville Predators -

  • Can Nashville build off an overtime loss, but a three-goal comeback, against the Canadiens to snap a three-game losing streak?
  • What does Predators forward Patric Hornqvist have to do to find the back of the net? Firing 31 shots on net in the nine games during December, he’s scored only one goal in that span. That’s a 3% shooting percentage.
  • Will Colin Wilson snap out of the funk that had him as a healthy scratch the two games prior to Saturday’s contest against Montreal? In his game back, Wilson registered a -1, two shots, and nearly 17 minutes of ice time.

Boston Bruins -

  • How high is the ceiling for Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask? With a record of 18-8-2, a sub-2.00 goals against average, and a 0.936 save percentage, Rask is near the tops in the league in goaltending.
  • Where has Milan Lucic gone as of late? Scoring a goal Saturday against Buffalo, his first goal since a two-goal outing against Columbus on November 30th, Lucic has only one point (1g) in his last six games.
  • The Bruins bring in one of the league’s stingiest penalty kills. Ranked third in the NHL, Boston has killed 13 straight penalties over the past three games and 32 of 35 penalties overall in the month of December (91.4%).

Last time out...

Milan Lucic forced overtime with only 67 seconds remaining and Tim Thomas made 19 saves as the Boston Bruins won 4-3 in a shootout over the Predators on February 11th, 2012.

One interesting fact...

The home team has won the last six games in the series dating back to December 30th, 2006. Three of the last four have gone to overtime, with two of those going to shootout.
