Predators sign veteran Matt Cullen, 2 years / $7 million

After picking up Viktor Stalberg earlier, Nashville has added veteran center Matt Cullen to the fold as well.

Cullen, who will turn 37 this season, scored 27 points last season for the Minnesota Wild. A veteran of 1,073 games in the NHL, Cullen has a lifetime faceoff win percentage of .520%, giving Nashville not just depth up front, but an additional faceoff man as well.

He’s averaging half a point a game in his career and hovers near the 40+ point mark every season. Signing Cullen gives Nashville a bit of grit and size up the middle as he stands 6’1, 200lbs.

Cullen won a bronze medal with the 2004 USA Men’s team at the World Championships and a Stanley Cup with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006.
