Predators Game Update (Via the Nashville Predators PR Department)
Team Notes:
The Predators have gone to overtime or a shootout in an NHL-high 10 of their first 20 games in 2012-13. Last season, the Preds didn’t hit their tenth extra-time game until contest No. 43 (Jan. 12, 2012 vs. Colorado).
By forcing overtime, the team has now earned at least a point in 14 of the 15 games in which they’ve scored a goal. With the win, Nashville evened its record to 5-5 in extra time (3-1 in OT; 2-4 in the shootout).
Nashville scored its first 5-on-3 powerplay goal of the season (Hornqvist).
The Predators improved to 7-0-5 when scoring first.
The Predators outshot their opponent for a third straight game and for the sixth time this season (31-24). The team has averaged 30.7 shots per game in its last six outings, while allowing only 25.7.
Player Notes:
Shea Weber played in his 500th NHL regular-season game. He becomes the sixth player with 500 games for the Predators (Legwand, Erat, Timonen, Suter, Johnson). Weber’s seven shots on goal were a season high for the captain.
Mike Fisher’s third-period goal to tie the game was the 200th goal of his career (33 with Nashville).
With an assist on Patric Hornqvist’s goal, Roman Josi secured his second career multi-point game (two assists one year ago today; Feb. 25, 2012 vs. San Jose). An assist on Fisher’s goal gave the Swiss blueliner his first three-point game on North American soil (six two-point efforts in 74 career AHL games), while the game-winning goal in OT pushed his career-best performance to two goals and four points – the first time this season a Predator has scored four points in a game.
Rich Clune earned his first assist in a Preds uniform on Craig Smith’s first-period goal.
Patric Hornqvist’s goal at 13:43 of the second period was his first since returning from injury on Feb. 18 (missed 10 games) and the team’s first 5-on-3 powerplay goal of the season.
Shea Weber has eight points (3g-5a) in his last seven games. Colin Wilson has eight points (2g-6a) in his last eight games. Sergei Kostitsyn has six points in his last six games (1g-5a). Mike Fisher has four points (2g-2a) in his last five games.

Well done Roman! Nice to see the positive developement of my compatriot. On the other hand I am a bit dissapointed that the Preds didnt try to get Damien Brunner, as I proposed about a year ago. He now plays for Detroit and has already scored 10.
