BREAKING: Nashville Predators acquire defenseman Scott Ford from St. Louis

From the Nashville Predators PR department:

“NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 19, 2013) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has acquired defenseman Scott Ford from the St. Louis Blues for forward Jani Lajunen. Ford will report to the Predators primary developmental affiliate, the American Hockey League’s Milwaukee Admirals, where he played from 2008-12, serving as the Admirals captain in 2011-12.

Ford, 33 (12/24/79), posted six points (2g-4a) and 54 penalty minutes while serving as captain for the AHL’s Peoria Rivermen in 2012-13. In 423 career AHL games since 2004, the Fort St. John, B.C., native tallied 56 points (15g-41a) and 650 penalty minutes. In four seasons with the Admirals starting in 2008-09, he registered 36 points (11g-25a) and 465 penalty minutes in 279 games.

The 6-3, 216-pound blueliner played 118 games during a four-year career at Brown University, posting 47 points (15g-32a). He captained the Brown Bears during his senior season in 2003-04, and was a 2004 First Team All-Ivy selection and winner of the 2004 ECAC Best Defensive Defenseman Award.”
