BREAKING NEWS: Alex Radulov and Andrei Kostitsyn will not play Game 3 for violation of team rules

UPDATE #3 (12:45pm, May 2nd): Same source told me that a member of TSN’s television crew was the one who notified David Poile personally via a phone call about Radulov/Kostitsyn breaking curfew. Still working on the finer details, but at least we’re getting a bit closer…

UPDATE #2 (11:13am, May 2nd): I spoke with my source inside the Nashville Predators organization and I was told that the reason Radulov and Kostitsyn weren’t suspended for Game 2 was the fact that the coaches found out AFTER Game 2 was over. This was also confirmed by Barry Trotz this morning at Nashville’s morning skate. Working on the details about HOW the coaches found out as well. Stay tuned…

UPDATE (11:38am, May 1st): According to multiple sources, suspensions are due to violation of team curfew. Still waiting on verification from the Preds themselves

Breaking news for Pred Nation and not the kind of news that is positive. From Kevin Wilson and the Nashville Predators organization, the following was released:

Nashville, Tenn. (May 1, 2012) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that forwards Alexander Radulov and Andrei Kostitsyn will not play Game Three of the team’s Western Conference Semifinals series vs. the Phoenix Coyotes as result of violating team rules.

“The Nashville Predators have a few simple rules centered around doing the right things,” Poile said. “We have always operated with a team-first mentality and philosophy. Violating team rules is not fair to our team and their teammates.””

We’ll have more about this as soon as we hear from the coaches and anything that leaks out about the possible violation
