Losing Streak Hits Four, Detroit Whips Nashville 4-1

Coming off a third period collapse to Minnesota on Wednesday, Nashville came out flat in the first and didn’t really improve over the course of 60 minutes as the Detroit Red Wings took care of business 4-1 against the Predators.

Nashville was outshot nearly double 37-19 throughout the game, including a first period where they only mustered 3 shots on net.

Special Teams:

Powerplay – 0 for 3, 0%
Penalty Kill – 1 for 2, 50%

Best Play of the Game: Jack Hillen cancels out the shutout and gets Nashville on board, making the score 4-1 five minutes into the 3rd period.

Worst Play of the Game: Not one play as a whole stood out as a “bad play” however the continual drop passes by Nashville players to non-existant players or individuals on the other team is something that has to stop immediately

My Three Stars:

#1:  - Valtteri Filppula – 2g, 1a, +2 on 3 shots. What can you say? Filppula had an amazing game, it’s just that simple

#2:  - Henrik Zetterberg – 1g, 1a, +2 on 4 shots. Slick moves got him the goal to make it 2-0 Detroit in the second period, just a great player with another great game against Nashville

#3:  - Jimmy Howard – 18 saves on 19 shots. He didn’t face many shots, but made some great saves on the 19 quality shots that Nashville threw at him

Jack Hillen has an awesome ‘stache.

But the rest of the game was not good at all. The boys need to stop doing it that way and start doing it the right way.
