Nashville had one of their more complete games of the season tonight as they played a full 60 minutes against the Dallas Stars and the Referees and grabbed another 2 huge points and gained some well deserved breathing room in the western conference.

Special Teams:

Powerplay – 0 for 1, 0%
Powerplay For The Season – 37 for 245, 15.1%

Penalty Kill – 2 for 3, 67%
Penalty Kill For The Season – 41 for 260, 84.2%

Best Play of the Game: The Predators killing off the penalty and sticking a fork in the game with Legwand’s short-handed goal with 3.6 seconds left. STATEMENT penalty kill right there to put their foot on a huge win

Worst Play of the Game: There’s something about a goalie who gives up HUGE rebounds which leads me to believe a team won’t get far in the playoffs. Lehtonen’s rebound gave Mike Fisher a WIDE open net and his second goal of the game

Players (Good and Bad) of the Game:
The Good: Mike Fisher – Floodgates opened for Mr. Fisher tonight as he was able to pot TWO huge goals in this big win by the Predators

The Bad: Brendan Morrow – Garbage player tonight. I REALLY like Morrow, but tonight he just showed that he has the potential to be a really classless player at times. Stay classy, Morrow

My Preds #1 Star: The Wardratwand will be given this prestigious award tonight. The Wardratwand finished the game with 2g/1a/+5 on the night. The Wardratwand is UNSTOPPABLE!!!

Synopsis: Such a complete game and a complete 60 minutes played by the Predators tonight. Nashville came into this game on a 5 game winning streak and left the game with a 6 game winning streak.

What’s even more impressive is that Dallas could have tied the game AND taken the lead at ANY point in time in this game, but the Predators held their ground and were able to close this one out.

Some interesting stats to point out here: The Predators have SEVEN players within 5 goals of the 20-goal mark:

Sergei Kostitsyn – 19 goals
Patric Hornqvist – 19 goals
David Legwand – 17 goals
Mike Fisher – 17 goals
Shea Weber – 16 goals
Martin Erat – 15 goals
Colin Wilson – 15 goals

That’s HUGE for the Predators. 7 potential TWENTY goal scorers? Not many teams can boast that.

Next game is Tuesday March 29th against the Vancouver Canucks in yet ANOTHER HUGE game for the Predators. Tickets are still available for this one, it’s a 7pm puck drop

Playoff Outlook: 92 points, Currently, 6th place – 1 point out of 4th, 5 points out of 2nd

Best of 19 Record: 9-2-2

BEST OF SEVEN Record: 1-0-0

March Record: 9-2-2

What SportsClubStats Says?: 99 points gets the Predators a guaranteed playoff spot. We’re 7 points out with 6 games remaining. Nashville may be able to lock in about 10 days!
