Whaaaaat a ruuuuush! Preds come back and club the Bruins 4-3 in OT

Courtesy of ESPN

The Predators were just about to drop their second in a row when they decided it was time to turn it on and get past their opponent, as they came from behind to drop the Bruins in OT, 4-3

Special Teams:

Powerplay – 1 for 4, 25%
Powerplay For The Season – 35 for 236, 14.8%

Penalty Kill – 3 for 3, 100%
Penalty Kill For The Season – 35 for 242, 85.5%

Best Play of the Game: Shea Weber, Shea Weber, Shea Weber. His shot and game winning goal in overtime almost felt like a playoff overtime goal. Tuuka Rask went on to say that he could literally see “nothing” on Shea’s shot. See what happens when you put someone in front of the net?

Worst Play of the Game: Patric Hornqvist’s hit on Tyler Seguin. I’ve went back and looked at the play and although everyone is saying it was Helmet-To-Ear contact…I’m not seeing it. I see Horny’s elbow come up and smack Seguin in the head. If I’m wrong, so be it. If I’m right, that’s a crummy crummy play from Patric. I understand it’s a “hockey play” as Coach Trotz says, but you GOTTA WATCH WEAR YOUR EXTREMITIES ARE GOING. I see a 2 game suspension minimum for #27. Which is truly unfortunate

Players (Good and Bad) of the Game:
The Good: TIE: Sergei Kostitsyn/Colin Wilson – Wow, nice to see these guys get back on the scoresheet! Both players had 1g, 1a, +1 for the night and you just gotta hope that this sparks their offense for the final stretch

The Bad: Patric Hornqvist – Sorry Horny, any time you get ejected you automatically get this award. To be honest, I don’t want to give it to you, but it’s calling your name tonight.

My Preds #1 Star: As Paul McCann would say: “SHEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WEBER!” Game winning goal at 3:37 of the OT period ON THE POWERPLAY! Powerplay goal? From the Captain? Yes, you get the #1 star

Synopsis: Take the 2 points and let’s move on, Preds. You came back twice from 1 goal down to tie the game and eventually win the game in overtime. That being said, take the 2 points and move on to Detroit, because they’re coming off a good win as well.

That’s all I’m going to say about the game against the Bruins, but I do want to touch on one thing:

Wouldn’t this be a hell of a Stanley Cup final matchup? We can only hope Preds fan, we can only hope.

Next game is Saturday March 19th against the Detroit Red Wings at 7:00pm. If there s any tickets left, you can use the link at the top to buy your tickets!

Playoff Outlook: 82 points, Currently, 9th place – 1 point out of 8th, 2 points out of 6th, 3 points out of 5th

Best of 19 Record: 4-2-2

March Record: 4-2-2

What SportsClubStats Says?: 99 points gets the Predators a guaranteed playoff spot. We’re 17 points out with 11 games remaining. Little margin for error

The more I watched it on youtube, it looks like Hornqvist led with his elbow. Stupid play. Fail Hornqvist. But, we still got the 2 points, moving on, bring on the Dead Wings!!!
